COMMON MYTHS ABOUT SUCCESS

We all want to be successful. It's that promise of finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel that inspires us to keep hustling-even when the going gets tough. Success is always the end goal. But do we really know what success is? or we operating only towards an unidentified entity that we've been told to, since we gained sense? There are so many common myths surrounding success which confuse us and leave us astray. Everyone has a different definition of success. Even if they achieve the general success, if it doesn't match their idea, it leaves them dissatisfied. So, make sure you are not confusing the following myths about success with your definition. Despite what you may have been conditioned to believe, success isn't a "one size fits all" sort of thing.

Success makes your life perfect- people believe that once they have reached their goal- certain salary, that top position or a particular accomplishment, everything else will fall into the picture. But this is not true. Everything requires hard work. Every single aspect of your life. You will continuously have to work for it and slowly things will fall in their places. Also, feel the happiness at each milestone. Don't ignore your accomplishment while dreaming for another.

All it takes is hard work- success does involve rolling up your sleeves and putting in the hard work, there's no denying that. But that is not all that it takes to achieve success.

It is the stuff that cannot be predicted or planned- like being at the right place at the right time, or call it luck. Of course these cannot be totally relied upon, but they do affect the results, believe it or not. It looks the same for everyone- a business man defines his success as having a huge lump of salary, decent work hours and expanding his business all over the world, while a farmer would describe success as having good agricultural turnout and a decent house. As with everything, it's far too easy to fall into the comparison trap. Take a notice of the point that success is personal. It is different for all.

Success is a one point phenomenon- success is never ending. You will always strive for something better, something new, at a higher level. You got the promotion? Now you'd want your head's position. You brought a 3 room house? Now you'd want a 5 room one. Success is a never ending process. Your idea of success keeps growing as you grow. But make sure to enjoy each level and be satisfied with your current situation.
