It’s not my fault. It always happens with me. Why me? We all know people who always use these phrases whenever they face any adversities in life. It’s an easier option to blame the circumstances or people around you for your failure. When something does not go your way, it is because it wasn’t meant to be. This habit of never accepting the responsibility of failure highlights the trait of a person who always plays the victim card.Pessimistic personality persuades the person to think dark and negative. But this path does not lead to success. We have heard of the phrase "Grapes are sour" which comes from the story of a fox who is unable to reach the grapes which were located at a height which the fox could not reach. The fox tried twice while taking breaks in between but failed. In the end the fox gave up and remarked that the grapes are sour. This short story has many hidden lessons but one of the most important lessons this imparts is that people tend to hate anything which they can’t reach or achieve. So what is the difference between a winner and a looser?
Winning trait of a person is that he identifies fear and decides to face it. He accepts his fault whenever he faces any failure instead of blaming it on circumstances or people. This helps him to rectify his mistake, take learning from failure and march on the path of success. This makes him a victor. Optimistic personality motivates the person to persevere and work till he achieves desired result.
This can be related with the story of the king who was tasting defeat in every battle and took refuge in a cave where he saw a spider who was constantly trying to weave cobweb but kept falling and started redoing it again and again tirelessly. This inspired the king to try till he succeeds and he tasted success. This gives a lesson of perseverance and never say die attitude.
So what separates a victim from a victor? It is directly dependent on attitude of the person as it sets the victim on a side from victor. The choice rests with the person to be a fighter or get defeated out of fear.
