Life is full of surprises. You’ll never know for certain what your future will look like. You’ll never know where you end up or what you’ll accomplish in the next few years. You’ll never know who you will befriend, what you will experience, how you will feel…This makes it even more important to put your all in everything you do, as if it is your last day.
We often get so caught up in daily life that we lose sight of what really matters. Worse, it becomes a repeating cycle where we hurriedly do the same things every day. If we are not doing the things that matter most, then it becomes a destructive pattern. Living each day as if it were your last is not about being reckless. Rather, it is about living each day as if it matters. Life is too short for lies, half-truths, and beating around the bush. Tell people what you really think. Be truthful especially to yourself. Every day counts, and it is up to you to make it so. Don’t give it half of your effort. Always give 100%. Always do your best. And always be proud that you have given it your all. If you only has 24 hours to live you’d realize how much time you’d spent on things you never cared about which made you feel good in the present, but would never amount to anything in the future. We’d regret so much of our poor decisions that took away so much important time in our lives. We’d love a little more time to be able to say goodbye to the people who stayed beside us in our short time here. Maybe you’d finally get the courage to do what you love, because you have nothing else to lose.
Live every day as if it were your last. Your day is what you make of it. Make it count and very day after that. As Steve Jobs said, "Your time is limited; so don’t waste it living someone else’s life."
