HOW TO TURN FEAR INTO FUEL

Think about this: you have set a goal. But even before beginning to work towards it or whilst, you have a set of excuses ready at your expense. "I'm not educated enough", "I don't have much experience", "it's not my field". However, none of these are actual, concrete doubts. While these may be the factors that can impact success, they are not the deciding or underlying factor, but instances of fear. Fear is innate to humans. It is the one thing that cannot be ignored. It is after all for our protection - like it is okay to be fearful of walking in the jungle, or swimming with the sharks. But this trepidation should not come in the path of our goals. We can't let these hold us back and dictate our life. Turning these fears into fuel, and letting these drive us towards success in what needs to be done.

Recognizing fear is the first step that we need to take to begin this process. Giving it too much importance will only drive us away from our ambitions. One may even loose the sight of his target, and altogether stop working towards it. This fear needs to be recognized and managed properly; otherwise it can weigh us down. We can become indecisive and self doubting and altogether stop working. But what if we could turn this fear into the driving force that enables us to reach our dreams? Firstly, we should accept our failures, and face them. Ignoring them is one thing, but learning to grow with them in the key. Accept the fact that one rarely succeeds the first time around. We should learn to try again and again with different approaches. Plan A didn't work? It's okay.

Come up with the 25 alternatives then. Take insights of someone else. Someone senior, someone you trust or even the internet! Get some new ideas and restart the process. The next thing we can do is eliminate the negativities, thoughts in particular, and even people who feed your fear fire. Turn the negatives into positives. Turn "I can't do it" to "how else can I do it?", turn "what if it doesn't work" to "how terrific it would be if it works." Try finding more pros in each situation. Be around people who calm you and make you feel worth full. Stop obsessing over a negative thought in your mind, and instead of stretching it, try talking it out.

You can also try stepping out of your comfort zone. It may be tough to start it out, but change must be embraced and worked with. If you allow your comfort zone to become a prison, you must recognize it is working against you, not for you. Think about the times you took and a chance and you were successful. Please note that taking a chance and being reckless are not the same things. Think things out thoroughly and make the decision. There is an equal chance of you winning, as there is of losing. So why are you focusing only on the losing part?
