WHAT WE THINK, WE ARE

"We are capable of much more than we think we are. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world". This is what Buddha wrote in his Dhammapada. It means all experiences are preceded by mind, having mind as their master. We could really achieve our dreams by embodying them in ourselves. If you cannot even think yourself living your dreams and achieving your goals, how do you expect life to place you there?

We construct our life with the thoughts we think. Hard work, perseverance, discipline, focus, character, wisdom etc are the building materials that help us erect these thoughts. On the other hand if we think about greed, jealousy, panic ridden and fearful thoughts, we are definitely headed for a disaster. We must train our mind to think pure, powerful, constructive and kind thoughts. This will lead to manifestation of a great life. Before planning on the hard work and the actions, sit down and gather your thoughts. The truth is that everything in your life and even where you are now is a result of your choices. Your thoughts become your choices, and therefore you are where you are now because that's where you have chosen to be. It may be hard to hear this, but it's the place to start from if you want to improve yourself. If you are at some place you don't like, then start to think about yourself somewhere you want to be, and work towards it. You got yourself here, so you can be assured that you have the power to get yourself somewhere else, anywhere else in fact, that you want to be. What do you want your life to be? What do you really want to do with the short amount of time you've been given on this planet?

Do you want to change the world? Become rich? Become a parent? What do you really want, because many people don't even really think about this. They might consider career options when forced to conform, they might attend a career day and choose the one they feel they would enjoy most out of the choices presented to them, but why not think outside of that box? There are no limits to what you could do, but have you ever really considered it?

I would like to quote Frank Outlaw's famous words here in this regard. He says:

      "Watch your thoughts, they become words;
      watch your words, they become actions;
      watch your actions, they become habits;
      watch your habits, they become character;
      watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."
